Thank you to everyone who made the journey to join us and to those who rescheduled studio and live work to be at the event. The feedback on the new cymbals has been great, with many Artists already wishing to incorporate these new sounds into their set-ups. Many thanks to Jeroen and the team at Hoshino for organising such a great day and to Bertus and Jan at Rockacademie for being such great hosts."

Marco Toro, Venezuelan-born founder and leader of the Toro Ensamble who is causing quite a stir in his adopted country of The Netherlands. After forming the Latin rock band Laberinto fifteen years ago, Toro has returned to Afro-Venezuelan folkloric music and the classic tough style Salsa Brava of his youth, forming the Ensamble expressly to explore his roots. On his latest release, Oido al Tambor (listen to the drum) Marco took the challenge to compose his own songs combining elements of Afro-Venezuelan music , Boogaloo and Salsa Brava. Going back to his home country to record with one of the most popular Venezuelan Soneros Angel Flores and returning to the Netherlands and record with the Venezuelan Sonero Javier Plaza and the Colombian Sonero Nando Vanin . Two of the most popular Soneros of the European Salsa scene make this album hot, spicy and especially dedicated to the dancers (El Bailador) and the generation with the never stopping heartbeat of Latin Soul.

Toro Ensemble has been selected by Alabianca Records on the Various Artists compilation cd in Italy "La noche Cubana Vol.30" Distributed by Warner Music.
